I am a lover of old fashioned names, and though I’m not pregnant, I’m always dreaming of baby names and making lists of the ones I like. Classic names are always my favourite and I am so happy that they are gaining popularity again. Perhaps once more we will have classrooms full of Mables and Williams, Georges and Ethels! Even though they are traditional, I think in our modern era, they can be quite edgy too, and that’s why I love them.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will have noticed the heavy vintage revival that’s been hitting the mainstream in the past few years and I am totally loving it! I’ve recently started watching Downton Abbey (which I am enjoying for numerous reasons) and this has inspired me to compile a list of my favourite traditional baby names:
- Arthur (Art or Artie)
- Charles (Charlie)
- Beatrice (Bea)
- Cecilia (Celia)
- Evelyn (Eve)
- Mary (or Marie)
What are your thoughts on classic baby names? Timeless or outdated? Leave me a comment and let me know!
