Take time to appreciate music. To appreciate good food. To appreciate good company. Smell the flowers, listen to the birds. Lay in the snow and jump in puddles…even if it gives you a wet bum. When you’re running late to work, stop for a moment. Is that a bee you hear humming against the window pane? Open it, free the bee. Smile. Have a glass of water while you’re at it. When you’re stressed, take time to mediate. Let the nothingness fill your body until YOU are nothing.. only bliss. Have a bath. Read a book. Eat something unhealthy. Life is short.

Appreciate your children. Spend time with them, kiss their cheeks. Count their toes. Read to them. Try not to roll your eyes when they hand you “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” for what seems like the thousandth time. Instead, take in the words, absorb the meaning. Enjoy the book. You will find that if you have the right mindset, you will find even the most simple children’s stories meaningful. You just have to learn what meaningful is. Spend quality time together. Bond.

And another: Adore yourself. Love your body, the way your hair curls when it’s wet. Love your dimples, your freckles, your funny shaped toes. Admire your stomach, not for the way it looks, but for what it does. Without your stomach you could not be. Your stomach is beautiful and very important. Lastly, love the planet. Admire it’s beauty. Admire nature. Write poetry about it, or a song. A rap if you want. Grow a plant. Tomato plants are good. Enjoy the earth, the feeling of dirt beneath your fingers and the smell of freshly cut grass.

So once again. Breathe… Take time to appreciate music. To appreciate good food. To appreciate good company. To appreciate life. Beauty is all around you. You just have to know where to look.
